I don't know about you guys but we eat a lot of wild rice mix and since I have had to cut the budget store bought mixes have become a special treat. But since my guys love wild rice and chicken I had to find a way to make it at home and this is the recipe I found.
Ingredients: 1 cup long grain brown or white rice 1/2 cup wild rice 1 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes 2 tsp. Spike seasoning or Herb Mix 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves 1/2 tsp. tarragon leaves 1/8 tsp. white pepper 1/2 tsp. salt
Mix ingredients and store in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place. This makes one side dish. You can multiply ingredients to make more mixes. I usually make about 6 recipes at one time store them in zip lock bags in the freezer and I am all set.
To cook simply bring 3-1/4 water to a to boil in a medium saucepan. Add Rice Mix about 2 cups, cover pan, reduce heat, and simmer for 50 minutes. Remove pan from heat, and let sit for 10 minutes before fluffing with a fork. 8 1/2-cup servings.
