Good morning everyone! This year will be the first year for homeschooling fo rus! The kids are 4 and 5 years old. I would like a cirriculum that is Christian and not 100% bound to the books and the governments idea of schooling. Any one use a system they just love? Thank you!

When our boys were that little I didn't have a set curriculum. I bought work books at Sam's Club and Wal-Mart and we spent a lot of time at the Library. At that age I just focused on the basics like writing letters, number and letter, shapes and color recognition and reading. Oh and simple math. If I had to do all over again I would get something like Hooked on Phonics or some thing like that. The work books are really inexpensive and you will be surprised just wow far you can go with them. I think I used them all the way through the 3rd grade. We did unit studies for history and science. As for my speller I used the Spelling Bee book.
Up until the 5th grade I used the "Everything Your __ Grader Should Know" series as a guide so I made sure I covered everything.
When I felt I need a more structured curriculum (junior high school) I used Alpha and Omega, English and math but we still did unit studies for history and science. It wasn't until high school and biology that I bought the science books.
The is a wealth of information on the web for unit studies. Also another great place is the Goodwill Store. I have gotten sign language books and geometry books there and Kitty gets some of her books there.
