ok--I know nothing about trapping--although it is something that I would like to learn. We use a live trap to catch possums and racoons around the house sometimes. I like to relocate the racoons. I prefer to shoot the possums, but sometimes the live trap helps to get them where I can. We have also used the live trap on skunks. That is the extent of my trapping experience. I am going to be doing research on it and getting some traps so I can learn more about it. I feel this could be a valuable skill in a post SHTF world, so it is something we need to explore further.

I agree trapping would be a great skill to have. I always remember trappers from the old western movies.

My Dad is a "professional" trapper. I'll see what info I can find. He traps everything....works for farmers and he used to trap for the fur and sell them when we were little. It's how we made it through when he would get laid off.
