We are planning on leaving Friday--be gone about 2 weeks. I am keeping my fingers crossed to come home with about 1500 pounds of venison and 30-40 quail. Maybe a couple of turkey too. I know they are having a good deer year, but haven't heard much about the birds. Guess I'll find out when we get there. I just hope it is not toooooo cold. Talked to my mom yesterday--it was -10 degrees for a high!!! That is a little chilly to set in a deer stand facing the north looking out all the way to Canada (well, maybe you can't see quite that far, but it sure seems like it sometimes )

Hey everyone!!! We are back from a very successful hunting trip. We ended up with enough meat for the YEAR!!!!! I am very excited. I got 4 bucks and a doe. BabyDeer got a buck also. All total we have about 1000 pounds of meat before going to the processor--which will add more poundage to it. We had a lot of great times this year. I hunted in the most extreme temperatures I ever hunted before--wind chills -30 + and I did it. I made the whole day. I am very pround of myself. I wondered if I had it in me and feel like I beat the weather!!!! Isn't it great when you accomplish something that you have never done before. More on our hunts later...
