Really scary stuff with potentially devastating consequences. Just got an email from a friend in Bella Vista AR re: this ice storm. He's saying the weather folks are calling it the worst ice storm EVER, that some areas could be without power for up to 6 months - MONTHS! - and that not only are lines down, but poles are also down in many areas. He says school is definitely closed for the rest of the week. There are 2" of ice on the ground/roads as well.
This area is home to Tyson & Wal-Mart HQs and hub of their distribution centers. I expect these giants will have back up energy sources, but icy conditions may slow distribution of products to some other regions.
His email comments were pretty sobering. We're getting some cold rain, but nothing out of the ordinary. I understand Nashville and north to KY are getting some this nasty stuff as it moves east.

We are getting rain. Hopefully no ice I have had all the snow I can handle and I don't like ice.

How did it turn out?
Doesn't sound like it got nearly as bad as '94 from what I got on the news?

We had over a half inch of ice and then it snowed on that. The power stayed on until the wind started blowing. I can now get the generator out and running in about 15 minutes. And it snowed more today. I'm sick of the snow.
