Good for you!!! now find some of those Butler creek 25 round mags, nothing else...BC is still the best.... get their speed loader too.... these will be banned , last time over nightthey went from 9.95 to 65.00 and there were none...
If and when you put a scope on it, get a 3 to 9 power, a 22 scope is not the way to go...

Thanks I'll check it out. What all goodies do you suggest? I've gotten the cleaning kits and supplies for it including the .22 boresnake. I've also ordered 2 Ruger factory 10rnd mags for it. I'll go check out the Butler Creek 25 rnd mags too. I want to go ahead and get the scope now too. Go ahead... load me down with suggestions. I'm ready to shop.

Your doing fine, just don't bother hanging any of the after market crap on it, weighs it down and don't add on bit to the usefulness of the rifle...and it all costs a bunch.... AMMO>>>WM...... 130.00 5500 rounds...be aware that some of this ammo don't go off, been that way for a long time, if you put the round back in and the striker his a diff place it will go off...but...when it happens, clear it slowly while looking at what's going on, then you'll be able to clear it faster...that will jam once in a while...

As you all know, I'm such a novice on guns and such, just know I need them. Every week or so, I buy bullets for the S&W 40, the 243 and the soon to be 22 rifle. Nearly at my goal of 1,000 rounds for each weapon. (Is that enough, I wonder?) This past weekend, I purchased my second rifle, a Ruger 10/22 TAPCO. Can't pick it up until they finish the backround check (Thursday). I need to get a scope, what do you all recommend? To be honest, guns scare me but I will get past this as I recognize this as an important part of our survival and reading all you're posts does help.

1000 rounds is enough until you gather 2,000 rounds.
A quick sight for the .22 if you must hang something on it is a red dot sight of some kind. Very fast to pick up and quite rugged. There are a lot of options just go to Midway USA web site and put Red Dot Scope in the search.
